Bylaws

# Bylaws of [Grounded In Grace]

## Article I. Name and Purpose

**Section 1.01 Name:** The name of this organization shall be \[Grounded In Grace].

**Section 1.02 Purpose:** To provide a safe and enriching environment for individuals and groups seeking retreat, recreation, and educational experiences in an outdoor setting.

## Article II. Governance

**Section 2.01 Board of Directors:** The retreat center shall be governed by a Board of Directors, responsible for overseeing its operation and ensuring adherence to the center's mission and bylaws.

**Section 2.02 Officers:** The Board shall elect officers including President, Treasurer, and Secretary, who will carry out the daily operations of the organization.

## Article III. Visitor expectations and guidelines

**Section 3.01 General Behavior:** Visitors are expected to respect the peaceful and natural environment of the center and adhere to the following guidelines:

* Respect all guests and staff.

* Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by retreat center staff.

* Maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere, especially during designated quiet hours.

* Observe modesty at all times and dress appropriately.

**Section 3.02 Prohibited activities:** To ensure a safe and harmonious environment, the following activities are prohibited:

* Smoking and vaping in designated areas only, no illegal drugs, and fireworks on the property.

* Firearms and off-road vehicles (without prior permission).

* Entering restricted or private areas.

* Littering or damaging the environment.

**Section 3.03 Pet Policy:** Pets may or may not be allowed, based on each individual situation with center policy. If permitted, they must be kept on a leash at all times, not allowed in buildings, and may have designated areas where they are permitted.

## Article IV. Amenities and Facilities

**Section 4.01 Check-in and check-out:** Specific check-in and check-out times will be enforced.

**Section 4.02 Campsite rules:** For camping areas, rules may include limitations on the number of people, vehicles, and camping units per site.

## Article V. Safety and emergency procedures

**Section 5.01 First aid and emergencies:** Staff are trained in first aid and emergency procedures.

**Section 5.02 Security measures:** The center may utilize measures like external surveillance for safety and rule compliance.

## Article VI. Amendments

## Article VII. Financial management

**Section 7.01 Fiscal year:** The fiscal year for the organization shall be from January 1st to December 31st of each year.

**Section 7.02 Financial records:** Accurate and complete financial records will be maintained and available for review as required.

**Section 8.01 State and federal laws:** The retreat center will operate in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

Waiver of Liability & Photo Release

 

I, (adult or minor child) HEREBY WAIVE AND RELEASE, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge Grounded In Grace. and its owners, operators, agents, volunteers, officers, directors, affiliates, successors and assigns, of and from any and all claims, demands, debts, contracts, expenses, causes of action, lawsuits, damages and liabilities, of every kind and nature, whether known or unknown, in law or equity, that I or Child ever had or may have arising from or in any way related to my/child’s participation in any events or activities conducted by, on the premises of, or for the benefit of, Grounded In Grace. I understand that the activities that I/children will participate in and that I/children will see are inherently dangerous and may cause serious or grievous injuries, including bodily injury, damage to personal property and/or death. I/children will be in direct contact with animals that include but are not limited to petting or riding horses, fishing, camping, etc. I understand that, as with most animals, they may react in an unpredictable way to sounds, sudden movements, people, or other animals that could result in injuries to people. On behalf of myself, said children, my heirs, assigns and next of kin, I/children waive all claims for damages, injuries and death sustained to me/children or property, that I/children may have against the released party to such activity. By this waiver, I/children, assume any risk, and take full responsibility and waive any claims of personal injury or death or damage to personal property with Grounded In Grace., including but not limited to entering Grounded In Grace, observing or interacting with the animals, using the equipment in any manner, form or fashion, and practicing and/or engaging in other related activities including the initiating of prohibited contact with the animals on and off the premises. It is a condition of entry that visitors observe all verbal and visual warnings, do not venture into any pasture or open any gate without explicit permission from a representative of Grounded In Grace. The provisions of the WAIVER AND RELEASE may be waived, altered, amended or repealed, in whole or in part, only upon the prior written consent of all parties. The provision of this WAIVER AND RELEASE will continue in full force and effect even after the termination of the activities conducted by, on the premises of, or for the benefit of, whether by agreement, by operation of law, or otherwise. I have read, understand and fully agree to the terms of this WAIVER AND RELEASE. I understand and confirm that by signing this WAIVER AND RELEASE that I/children have given up considerable future legal rights. I have signed this Agreement freely, voluntarily, under no duress of threat of duress, without inducement, promise or guarantee being communicated to me. My signature is proof of my intention to execute a complete and unconditional WAIVER AND RELEASE of all liability to the full extent of the law. I am 18 years of age or older, and/or legal guardian of children, and mentally competent to enter into this waiver.

 

Please Initial one of the following _____I Do ______I Do Not Authorize Grounded In Grace., to publish photographs taken of myself and/or the minor child or children listed above, and our names and likenesses, for use in Grounded In Grace for print, or for online website. By checking “I Do”, I acknowledge that participation is voluntary and that neither I, the minor child, or minor children will receive financial compensation of any type associated with the taking or publication of these photographs or participation in company marketing materials or other publications. I hereby release Grounded In Grace, its contractors, its employees and any third parties involved in the creation or publication of Company publications, from liability for any claims by me or any third party in connection with my participation or the participation of the minor children listed below. I understand that this agreement contains a promise not to sue Grounded In Grace. or their employees.
